We reported it earlier today that a multi-award winning photojournalist, Yinka Adeparusi who works with Naij, an online news portal in Nigeria, was declared missing in Abuja after his whereabouts became unknown to both his neighbours and members of staff at his place of work for two days.
Naij has now revealed that the staff and journalist was killed in a motocycle accident in the nation's federal capital, Abuja. Below is the publication's statement in full;

"Adeyinka Adeparusi, the award winning photojournalist of NAIJ earlier reported missing, has been confirmed dead in an accident.
"NAIJ confirmed that he was involved in a motorcycle accident in Abuja and died on the spot.

Yinka was last seen alive when he stepped out of his apartment at about 1.00 pm in Kugbo area of Abuja on Sunday, November 13, with a brief ‘I’ll be back’.

"Friends and colleagues got worried after several calls made to his mobile phone lines did not go through and also he did not make any contact with those close to him or his colleagues in the office.
"This was quite unusual because Yinka was a soft- spoken, very professional and clear-headed individual; not the kind of person to wander off.

"Yinka was an award-winning photojournalist who graduated from Lagos State University School of Communication, where he bagged double honours in Photojournalism and Cinematography and minor in mass
communication.
"Among other awards, Yinka received the People’s Choice Award for Human Rights Photography in Africa, German Development Media Awards in 2013 and was the winner of the photojournalism award of the 6th Wole Soyinka Award for Investigative Reporting in 2011.
